Enduring - July 16th, 2020
)Hi, everyone.
I hope you are all well and finding ways to endure. As Catherine once said, “We will endure. We will.”
Octavia Butler, the writer of the Earthseed trilogy, (highly recommended) wrote–
“That’s all anybody can do right now. Live. Hold out. Survive. I don’t know whether good times are coming back again. But I know that won’t matter if we don’t survive these times.”
Seems pretty on the money to me.
There are some things that we do right now to make life more bearable so we can endure. I write and draw, paint, garden, and cook. I also watch movies and funny videos with my family, like The Home Movie edition of the Princess Bride featuring everyone you’ve ever heard of and then some! (Full episodes are on Quibi, but even the excerpt above is totally hilarious.)
This weekend, Bobbi Suny put everything together for a Virtual Beauty and the Beast Convention. You can enjoy games, chats, ebay auctions, trivia, fanzine reading and more! (I’ll be reading part of ELDERBERRY ELOCUTIONS, by, the awesome and desperately missed, ChicagoTunnelKid. It’s going to be a mess of laughter and tears. ) Please stop by and Zoom with us!!!
There are people who make enduring possible. I think Catherine and Vincent would understand. And now, without further ado, Home Chapter 22. [Rated hard R]
