A SND (She's Not Dead) Beauty and the Beast 1987 Story

They say if you learn something during your middle school years, you’ll never forget it. In the Summer of 1987 I was thirteen years old and from the TV Guide Fall Preview I learned I was going to love a show. Before it was even on I was fairly obsessed with Beauty and the Beast, drawing pictures of the promo ads, and going to the library to read articles about this new an unique program.   Something about this show spoke to me, to many people I would later find,  maybe it was the magic, or the heroine’s bravery, or the hero’s intelligence, or their love, both pure and flawed, whatever it was, they had me at “Once Upon a Time…”

Fast forward twenty-five years – I still remember a little of 9th grade French – “Je ne comprends pas, –  I remember how to tie friendship bracelets, and, despite the years, I still love Beauty and the Beast.  I have been away a long time, but last summer I decided to be true to myself and see what was brewing on the web in B&B fandom.  I wanted to find a story, specially, this story. I discovered a lot of great Beauty and the Beast Fanfiction, but not the story I was looking for.  After I was lucky enough to talk to Carole from Imagine That , (if you haven’t been there, run there, Now!) I decided to try to write the story I was looking for.  She got me in touch with JoAnn Baca, a great writer in her own right, who has been kind enough to beta for me.   After many hours, and many false starts, “Union” is the story that appeared.  It is an SND story, that will drop you smack in the middle of “Though Lovers Be Lost.”  It is rated R and I reserve the right to tweak it.

I am publishing it here just in case you were looking for it, or, even better, it inspires you to write your own stories.  I hope you enjoy.  – Karen (Crowmama)
